Jensen Design & Survey, Inc. is able to offer clients a wide range of assistance with public works projects. We are able to offer the public agencies with the support needed to meet the needs of their particular community. Our public work experience includes street realignments - many of which are due to local area development, but our experience also includes work in historical/downtown areas in which the focus is to preserve the look and feel of the surrounding community. Our experiences also include flood control and storm water work.

County of Ventura Juvenile Detention Facility, Oxnard, CA This project consisted of a master planned juvenile detention center, commitment, and courts facility. Project build out will be in three phases, with first phase consisting of the 420-bed detention and commitment housing, and associated administration buildings. For each phase, Jensen Design & Survey, Inc. provided civil engineering design and improvement plan preparation consisting of grading, storm drainage, sewer, fire line, domestic water, and street plans for the facility, and Caltrans street improvement plans for Vineyard Avenue (a State route). The project required regular progress meetings with the contractor, County of Ventura, and other regulatory officials.

Olivas Park Golf Course, Ventura, CA A $15M renovation project of the City-owned Olivas Park Golf Course. This 140-acre project included demolition and new construction of the golf course and facilities. Improvements included a new clubhouse, storage building, parking lot, 18-hole golf course, driving range, and restrooms, all requiring storm drain, water, fire, and sewer improvements. Jensen Design & Survey, Inc. worked with the City of Ventura, project architect, and golf course architect from initial concept through construction. Responsibilities included topographic mapping, improvement plans, construction staking, and engineering support during construction.

Saticoy Operations Yard, Saticoy, CA The Ventura County Public Works Department relocated their service yard facility to an undeveloped site near Wells Road in Saticoy, adjacent to the Santa Clara River. Jensen Design & Survey, Inc. worked with the County of Ventura throughout the entitlement approval process, and prepared improvement plans, including grading, drainage, and wet utilities, as well as construction survey and staking services. Jensen Design & Survey, Inc. received the 2007 “Project of the Year Award” from the Ventura County Chapter of the American Public Works Association.
